  • sudoku

    wasted too much of my life today on my first game of sudoku haha
    in yahoo games, it's a '5 minute daily'...more like a few hours for me haha



    i finally got to a pt in the game where i only had 2 boxes left
    and i thought i had it!

    ... sighhh ...




    that's the tricky part i can't overcome in my first trial of sudoku...
    if i got some section wrong...then my goodness what was that lead by by which square in the sudoku puzzle???

    all one could do then is to clear the board and start over it seemed...unless i could mark up the ones i was sure and the ones i guess arent sure

    the nice part bout doing sudoku online is that the digital version checks that
    1. u can mark up in each square all the possibilities
    2. it beeps u when u choose a possibility that is not allowed cuz the initial set indicates there's already a 1-9 somewhere along this row/column -- they don't tell you this in the ones you put in so it's not giving things away, it's only telling you the 'obvious'
    3. it also verifies when you have had a row/column all w/o repeating 1-9, but again it doesn't tell you whether you have 1-9 in the right places, it just verifies for you 'the obvious' that none of ur inputted 1-9 repeats on the board...
    i guess the only option it's missing is the show me which squares i have wrong...

    i was still trying to figure out the rubiks cube last night
    the dog versions shae and i both got heh ;)
    it's kinda funny with the eye and nose mismatch on the cube...is cute heh~

    biking in LA

    was it only yesterday that my older sis and i went to get her a new $300 hybrid bike? :)
    felt like a long time ago
    was such a productive weekend
    we got her all geared up, bike cushion pants, night lights, helmet,...
    we need to get a new bike rack...

    (i need a pic to document these moments! ;)

    also met up with chan who visited shae and i yesterday; shae and i then shopped around westwood and went to the fun store. we both got doggy rubiks cube :) she got the non sporting dog version, i got the terriors (but they didn't have a yorkie in any of the cube sides! hehe)

    i also got a lot of gifts for johnny's nephews :)
    got em a beany usc football hehe~ i think it'll be a fun group sport :)
    will be heading up to pittsburgh to recruit and also to see johnny graduate from his phd...

    on friday night, as i finally came back from up north, we packed away the $500 online pet shopping we did from the costco version for pets ;)
    built a new cabinet that hides an uber large litter box for our similarly uber enormous lion at home ;)

    weaved the whole doggy/baby gate as we realized chocolate could go through even the smaller openings~ sigh haha




    previous partial gate weaves to prevent chocolate from squeezing out to the rest of the house...


    didn't end up going to the toyota grand prix~ but zat's ok, had a great sunday~
    ran a bunch of errands
    i can't find all my chinese calligraphy (shu1 fa3) equipment so i went back to blicks in old town (seems like a weekly excursion now ;) ) to get a new brush, ink, and the stone palette's mixing stone...whatever u call zat thing hehe

    i splurged sat night when my sis, mike and i went to eat at little tokyo (yummy yakitori! super natsukashii~, dunno why i can't type foreign language on the mac...) and bought more miniature stuff~
    dunno y i have such a thing for miniature stuff~~~
    yet to take a pic, not happy with the set up yet but will once i have it

    for now, here's the little stage i created for the kitty/dog in urban setting stage~ :3



    on the ride home last night, we blasted Apocalyptica's Inquisition
    and we decided, we must go to the walt disney concert hall next to listen to modern classical!!~
    can't wait :)


    though i passed out late in the afternoon (but got to read a bit more from a recent architectural book i got from amazon)
    my sis and i went on a lil night riding trip hehe
    though we took a lot of time to prepare, get the dogs leashed, forgetting the head lamps, then the glove, then getting another jacket, then getting money, then the cellphone and health insurance card, driver license... ;) we eventually made it outside~
    it was nice slow ride with the dogs
    charcoal's chubby hehe so she couldn't go very fast

    after they did their run, we took the dogs back and we rode on our lil journey~
    that was really relaxing

    i love night rides :)
    i love the wkends~

  • global wahwming

    i've been feeling a bit guilty lately
    i need to do more bout global warming on my personal life~...

    yahoo had this recent raffle event which encouraged ppl to bring their own coffee mugs instead of using the reusable coffee cups...
    every day u brought ur own mug, u got a raffle ticket..

    didn win anything :) but it was a gd reminder...

  • plant swap & house tours in south pasadena

    so i we were on the way to this, this afternoon
    me on a bike which i sitll don't know how to fix when the chains fall off (don't ever squeeze a bike in the back trunk nemore ;P )

    and my sis on a skateboard heh

    then a very dehydrated black lab/retriever dog

    we never made it to south pasadena hehe
    but we did make it to lacey park and stopped there to refill the dehydrated dog (we had our camel baks but forgot the collapsible dog bowl)

    chains still crankin funny on the way; ill need to spend some intimate hours and finally figure out the mechanism of this bike


    i think the day trip made me feel better, happier... :)
    i love looking at houses

    ive been feeling lazy bout outdoor activities...

    watched densha otoko as ゴーさん mentioned it; made me happy for a bit but the ending was so exaggerated and crazy, i don't know how i feel about it anymore

    then thought maybe johnny got kidnapped in france or eloped with the room service lady since he was sick in bed and maybe she was babysitting him and they fell in love ;) ...but finally heard back from him haha :)

    now for some yummy ramen...
